“He Played More Fortnite Than Football” – Soccer Legend’s Son at AC Milan Had Some Things to Say About Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Zlatan Ibrahimovic returned to AC Milan for his second spell in January 2019 on a six-month free transfer. Although he did extend the contract for one more season 2020-21. The 2020-21 season also saw Daniel Maldini, son of AC Milan legend and technical director Paolo Maldini, promoted to the first team. The player played and trained for the first time alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Recently, Daniel had some interesting things to say about Zlatan.

Daniel Maldini, in a recent interview, opened up about how it was playing alongside Ibrahimovic. He was full of praise for the Swedish soccer star.

Daniel is currently on loan with Serie A club Spezia. Although the attacking midfielder has just five appearances so far for Spezia, he scored a crucial goal against AC Milan. Daniel would hope his situation will change in the second half of the season and he will get more game time.

In a recent interview, Daniel Maldini spoke about his life at AC Milan’s first team after getting a promotion from the youth team. Heaping praise on the legendary Zlatan Ibrahimovic, he told how the Swedish forward helps the youngsters in the club.

He said, “He played more Fortnite than football games. We had a good relationship on the pitch. He pushes you, but he does it in the right way. At first, it was incredible to see him at Milanello and train with him. If he gets angry? Yes, it doesn’t matter if you’re young or not.”

AC Milan loaned out Daniel Maldini to Spezia for the complete season. The loan deal is straight without any clause in it. The player will return to the club at the end of the season. However, Milan will not be happy over the game time of Daniel at Spezia and wants their player to have more minutes before he returns.

Ibrahimovic’s second spell at AC Milan

Ibrahimovic first joined AC Milan in the 2010-11 season on a loan from Barcelona. The deal came with an option to purchase at the end of the season. Milan did execute the option, and the player signed for four seasons. He won the Scudetto (Italian Serie A title) in his first season with Milan. In the next season, he finished as Serie A top scorer before moving to PSG.

After having remarkable spells with PSG, Manchester United, and the LA Galaxy, Ibrahimovic returned to AC Milan in January 2020 on a six-month deal. He extended the contract for one more year once the 2019-20 season ended. His aim was to win Scudetto with Milan, who last won it in 2010-11, which was Ibrahimovic’s first season with the club.

AC Milan won the Scudetto in the 2021-22 season, and it was the club’s first title in eleven seasons. Ibrahimovic scored 8 goals and assisted 3 more in the campaign. Despite suffering a long-term injury, AC Milan has announced that the player will also be part of the club for the 2022-23 season. And the legacy will go on.
