In their penultimate soccer match against Shabab Al Ahli for the Asian Champions League qualification, Al Nassr scored a dramatic victory. Anderson Talisca scored twice and got the winner in stoppage time to take home the victory. The game ended with a 4-2 triumph for Al Nassr to book their place in the group stage of the Asian Champions League. However, there is a catch. It would oblige a teammate of Cristiano Ronaldo to be left out.

Following the competition restrictions on the number of foreign players allowed for the tournament, one or two may miss out. Manager Luis Castro discussed the complicated effects and pointed out Talisca was set to miss out on the squad in the future.

The Saudi Arabian team could terminate Talisca’s contract to comply with the rules of the AFC. Hence, club boss Castro discussed the critical impacts on the squad and Talisca’s contributions to Al Nassr. According to reports, Castro stated“He’s a talented player, and he needs a stable team in order to be able to perform well, as he is. He plays according to the condition of the team, so if he is good, Talisca will be good, and vice versa.”

Fans appreciate the high-intense midfielder for possessing a languid style with stunning creativity. Apart from playing in the heart of the midfield, Talisca could put a shift on the other areas of the pitch. Castro continued, “Talisca handles the game well. He’s there when you need him. He can kick set pieces and play as a defensive midfielder, circle player, playmaker, and striker as well.” Looking at the stats, one can say Talisca is a crucial aspect of how the team plays.

In his 68 appearances for Al Nassr, the Brazilian soccer star scored 46 goals and created eight assists. He is a dynamic playmaker who could dribble the ball well and has a shot in him. Therefore, losing him would probably affect the team, considering his stature. Yet, his place on the team is in jeopardy.

According to the rules of the Asian Confederation, the organizers allow only five players born outside Asia to register for the tournament. In the current plans set forth, Al Nassr intends to take Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, Seko Fofana, Marcelo Brozovic, and Alex Telles. New signings are looking to take the club forward, and one must be the sacrificial lamb. Talisca joined the team in 2021 from the Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande.
