In order to play international soccer, England-born Mullin decided to play for Wales. However, he still awaits a call-up from the national team. Seeing his performance, everyone has supported his cause to represent the country. In fact, one of the Red Dragons’ ex-manager Dean Saunders, also did the same, while praising the star.
While speaking to Fearless In Devotion – Wrexham AFC podcast, he was asked if Mullin was good enough to play for Wales. While thinking of strikers such as Mark Harris, he also quoted some words for Reynolds’ $235K rated star. “Brendan’s not a striker really, he’s a wide player but he can play up font. But I think Paul is like, he is a handful,” he said.

“I mean if you played him in an international match now next week, you’ll get an easy game of him. Because not only does he score, he runs in behind and he knocks defenders over, puts his foot in, jumps for headers, challenges. He’s difficult to play against as well scoring goals,” he added.
Saunders also added that if Mullin continues his National League form in League Two, then he can surely get a call from the national team. The manager was full of praise for the 28-year-old, saying if he was the manager of Wales, then he’d definitely give Mullin a chance. The former manager also believes he can fill in the footsteps of Gareth Bale.

Can Mullin fill Gareth Bale’s shoes?
Everyone has their own opinion on Mullin’s role in the Wales national team. But ideally, the player has been touted to fill Bale’s shoes. The former Real Madrid winger was clinical for the Dragons and led his country for many years. He made 111 international appearances, in which he scored 40 goals. Hence, given Mullin’s performance so far, the striker can look to challenge these numbers.
While an early start to his international career might have given the 28-year-old striker a much-needed boost. However, it’s never too late, as the player looks diligent to play for the national team and exhibit his goal-scoring prowess. All that is left is for Wales manager Rob Page to call Mullin’s number and have a word with him. Reynolds’ star player is also eager to play for the national side as well.
