Lionel Messi is one of the most prominent figures in the world of soccer, and he has made a name for himself as one of the greatest players of all time. The Argentine maestro has been dominating the beautiful game for almost two decades now, breaking records and winning trophies, and now it seems that the 7x Ballon d’Or winner is taking his talents into acting as well!

The 36-year-old is doing so through his acting debut in Argentina’s sports drama series, ‘Los Protectores’. And according to his co-star, Messi is pretty good at it too.

The show ‘Los Protectores’ revolves around the story of three soccer agents. Following a successful first season, it is set to return with a second. Messi is set to make an appearance in the show, and his co-star, Adrián Suar, has been singing his praises as an actor.

According to Suar, Messi is an excellent actor who played his part perfectly. “What acts Leo. I play it perfectly, he did it very well,” the actor said. “It’s Messi. He plays Messi and he does it perfectly, but he does something that he had to act”. He also added that Messi nailed his role and brought out the fighter, personality, and leadership qualities of his character.

Suar further added, “The little boy is a fighter, he has personality, he is a leader. He is the leader of our team, our captain”. The praises didn’t stop there as the Argentine actor then made some bold claims. “Throughout my career, I have given directions to many actors. I did good to some and to others, I ruined their career. But the only one who perfectly understood my instructions is number one,” he concluded.

All these words only add to the hype of Messi’s fans who are eagerly waiting to see their favorite soccer star in a TV drama. However, they won’t have to wait much longer. The show is set to premiere on June 25th  on the Star + streaming platform. We will have to wait and see how well the World Cup winner fares on the show.
