Just hours ago, Paris Saint-Germain played their Ligue 1 fixture against FC Nantes. As usual, it was the Parisians who came to the top as they defeated the away side at Parc des Princes. But the spotlight has shifted from the crucial three points to the Parisians’ star player, Kylian Mbappe. As the Frenchman was missing from the scoresheet, his boss Luis Enrique gave a huge verdict on his role, claiming ‘he can go wherever he likes.’

Luis Enrique opens up on Kylian Mbappe’s freedom after goalless game

While PSG fans must be busy celebrating the French capital’s 2-1 win against Nantes, Kylian Mbappe became a topic of discussion during the post-match press conference. Notably, Luis Enrique was questioned over his decision to play the Frenchman as a center forward. However, the Spanish tactician quickly interjected the journalist. “Kylian Mbappe didn’t play in the middle. He played as he has done in every league game,” he started.

Enrique claimed that the 24-year-old can play anywhere, be it between the lines, on wings, or centrally. He insisted the striker’s position has never been changed and will continue the way he plays. “He does have to do some defensive tasks logically because we are a team. In attack, he has total freedom to move around.” 

Enrique acknowledged that exceptions are there if other players also use the same channels that Kylian Mbappe uses. “He can go wherever he likes. I will repeat that 100 times because it is the reality. Some people may see it differently, but it is always the same role for Mbappe.” This certainly clears the doubt about whether Mbappe’s role in the team was tweaked by the Spaniard or not. 

Yet, let’s not forget that Kylian Mbappe’s teammate and PSG’s new signing this summer clinched a remarkable milestone.

A night to remember for Mbappe’s new attacking partner

Speaking of PSG’s 2-1 victory, it was a night to remember for the lethal striker’s teammate, Bradley Barcola. The 21-year-old is in the headlines after finally opening his account with the Parisians. The forward scored a brilliant solo-run goal from a tight angle in the 41st minute. Sadly, his effort was canceled out as Nantes equalized moments after the start of the second half.
