But now, the OL Reign forward has made a sensational statement regarding Trump in her interview.

Megan Rapinoe raises the eyebrows of many

After an untimely retirement announcement, Rapinoe has again garnered attraction. This time, it was her interview with TIME. She gave a surprising statement in the aftermath of a highly publicized feud with the former President of the US. Rapinoe has been critical of Donald Trump for a long time. 

While speaking to TIME, Rapinoe revealed her pet theory of Trump being her secret fan. She said, “You know he was watching that game.” Rapinoe was referring to the 2019 FIFA World Cup game, where she did her trademark raising the arms celebrations. It was in response to the criticism she received from Trump after declining his invitation to visit the White House.

“You know he had his McDonald’s lined up. And he was probably like, ‘You know what, I love that.’ I always felt Trump loved me,” Rapinoe added. Her statement comes amid a long-going feud that has seen them both on opposite sides of ideology. Once, she slammed her dad, who voted for Trump. Her dad was an ardent Trump supporter then. It will be interesting to see how the former President responds to the pet theory of the USWNT superstar.

Former teammate praised Rapinoe over the White House row

It’s a tradition of visiting the White House after winning the World Cup. USWNT has done it in the past. But things didn’t go smoothly during the World Cup 2019. Donald Trump asked the team to visit The White House if they won the pinnacle tournament.

However, Rapinoe declined the invitation, resulting in a Twitter war between Trump and USWNT superstar. USWNT forward’s former teammate, Allie Long, said, “Duuuuude, this is so crazy. You’re a G. You took down the President.” The White House row marked a new chapter in the feud between Trump and Rapinoe. But now, after the retirement announcement, Rapinoe stunned everyone with her pet theory revelation.
