Lionel Scaloni gave a press conference today ahead of the finale. Argentine goalkeeper Emi Martinez also spoke to the press. Scaloni is determined to win the final and has a game plan for it and thinks Mbappe is not only the threat.

Lionel Scaloni spoke on various topics like the game plan, player availability, Lionel Messi, and Argentina fans, amongst others. Although, the focus of the media was on the enormous threat of Kylian Mbappe. Scaloni knows how important it is to stop Mbappe but claims that France is not about only Mbappe.

Scaloni said, “France is not only Mbappe, they have many players who are very dangerous. Kylian is very young and he can still improve as a player.” He added, “I have already decided how we are going to form against France. There is one more practice left and surely we will find out how we are going to play against them. The idea is to be able to hurt them and suffer as little as possible.”

Scaloni knows how important Messi is to Argentina’s chances. It might be his last game in the World Cup and is yet to win the coveted trophy. Scaloni wants Argentina to win the trophy if it’s the last game of Messi. He said, “If it’s Leo’s last game in Argentina, we hope we can win the cup. There’s no better scenario than a world final to enjoy it.”

Fans regard Kylian Mbappe as the next big thing in the world of soccer after Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. The PSG star is in line to win the second consecutive FIFA World Cup with France. Mbappe is on five goals this tournament, tied with Messi, and it will be interesting to see who wins the Golden Boot.

Mbappe already has nine goals in the World Cups at 23. Messi has eleven goals and might be playing his last World Cup. The 2018 FIFA World Cup Young Player winner can become the youngest player after Pele to have two World Cup trophies. He also became the second youngest player after Pele to score in the final when he scored against Croatia in 2018.
