Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami won their MLS opener 2-0 against Real Salt Lake. In a pre-game show, Apple Music’s creative director Zane Lowe was asked to share his thoughts on Messi’s superhit playlist. “The playlist is amazing. I got blown away by the music on it. I mean, you know you got incredible artists from the land. You’ve got Rosalía, Karol G, Bad Bunny… You know he loves Coldplay because we’ve seen the selfies. And he also collects Drake and J Cole and classics by Rick Rose. It’s cool, I would work on to it,” Zane Lowe said.

Lowe then doubled down on Messi’s profound influence on the music world. He recalled that famous artists like Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, and Kendrick Lamar have dropped La Pulga’s name in their songs as a tribute. Notably, Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny chose Messi as the GOAT over NFL legend Tom Brady in his song Vuelve Candy B. Perhaps, as a nod to Bad Bunny, Messi has saved Vuelve Candy B on his playlist.
