Real Madrid superstar backs the controversial league

Los Blancos’ legendary midfielder Toni Kroos is the first high-profile player to support the European Super League. The league organizers have come up with a new idea of making the competition open, unlike its first idea of a closed competition. They will involve around 60-80 clubs from Europe and feels they will get back from the clubs.

Kroos was talking on his podcast,?Einfach mal Luppen.?He feels the fans will see the controversial league happening as the idea has changed and needs to get one chance. While speaking on high-profile games every week, the 33-year-old said,?“Let there be more enthusiasm and emotion for the games that we will be able to see.”

“Because in the end, let?s not fool ourselves, many people always say, ?Who wants to see Real Madrid against Manchester City every week?? But have you gotten tired of watching [Roger] Federer against [Rafael] Nadal over and over again? I don?t. That?s my opinion.”

The five times UEFA Champions League winner thinks the games between top clubs every week will attract more soccer fans. It will create more interest among fans, and the games will be a treat for neutral fans too. Also, the participating clubs will be the owners of the league rather than a governing body like UEFA, according to the World Cup winner. He feels the breakaway league deserves on chance.
