Upon Lionel Messi’s arrival at PSG in 2021, it was evident that something extraordinary was in store. Sharing the pitch with Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, the sensational soccer star failed to replicate similar success he had with Barcelona. The much-fabled trio could not win the UEFA Champions League. It became an issue for the hierarchy as they targeted the competition from their star players. However, those plans went down the drain as Lionel Messi and Neymar left the club. 

To this day, PSG failed to comment on the outgoing transfers. But, they have arrived to reflect on the departures of their world-class players. Arsenal legend Robert Pires called them ‘crybabies’ for making a fuss about their time with the club. PSG shared their response on the matter.

Earlier, Neymar commented on the toxic atmosphere at the PSG camp and gave a controversial interview about his time in Paris with Messi.

Neymar discussed Messi’s life by stating, “He went to heaven with Argentina. I was very happy for him. But, in Paris, he lived through hell. In my opinion, he was unfairly judged in Paris. He had an exit that, football-wise, he didn’t deserve.” After that revelation from Neymar, Pires explained by stating, “I call it crybabies.”

And finally, PSG has come out to discuss the transfers of two world-class players. According to LE10 Sport, the club issued a statement mentioning, “We don’t make any comments. We have a certain elegance. Curiously, both players wanted to stay at PSG.” 

The last bit details how the players wanted to stay in PSG. Those are two contradictory claims from the player and the club, as the story is for the soccer fraternity to decode. In the end, when the history books read, PSG disbanded the famous trio of MNM!

After all those issues, the two players left the ship and went their separate ways. If one dives deeper, it looks to be an astute decision for all parties involved.

Neymar moved to Al Hilal and joined Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. in the Saudi Pro League. He earned a bumper salary contract and became the face of the team. Meanwhile, Lionel Messi took his talents to Vice City and displayed stunning performances for the club. He already won his first trophy with Inter Miami after having success in the Leagues Cup competition.

As for Mbappe, PSG brought in players to build around him, and hopefully, the Frenchman could be determined to win the UEFA Champions League with the help of his new teammates.
