However, what’s interesting to note is that after Shakira broke up with Gerard Pique, the ex-Barcelona still continued to retain possession of these awards. Pique and Shakira were together for 10 years before splitting up in June of last year. The split was a result of Pique cheating on her with a 23-year-old PR student, Clara Chia Marti.
Gerard Pique didn’t give back Shakira’s awards
Three months after Shakira and Gerard Pique called it quits, Pique still possessed Shakira’s Grammy Awards. This news was revealed by journalist Jordi Martin, who first broke the news of the couple’s breakup.

“In Pique’s office, in Kosmos (his production company), Shakira’s Grammys are still exposed,” Jordi revealed. “He hasn’t returned them to her”. It’s not clear why Pique would still have Shakira’s Grammys, or why he didn’t return them to her. Pique has yet to comment on the situation.

It has not been revealed what happened with the awards. However, the Colombian singer reportedly requested her Grammys be returned back to her.
The Grammy Museum honors Shakira

The GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles recently announced that they will be opening Shakira: The GRAMMY Museum Experience on March 4th. This exhibit will explore Shakira’s entire journey and evolution as a singer, and celebrate her legacy as a 15-time Grammy winner who has sold more than 85 million albums worldwide.
