Inter Miami fans can expect to look forward to a very exciting upcoming season. David Beckham is planning to further cement Miami’s legacy as he looks to conquer the MLS in the upcoming season. Already having showcased their potential in the Leagues Cup run, the squad will be further bolstered with new talents. Luis Suarez is among the many names being touted to join the Florida-based club. However, agreeing on Suarez’s potential, analysts debate how the partnership with Lionel Messi would pan out for Inter Miami in this time and age.
Real Madrid are set to lose on their iconic midfielder after staying 12 years with the Los Blancos. The 2018 Ballon d’Or winner is speculated to be in close contact with Beckham as he plans to land with the Herons next summer.

There is no doubt that Luis Suarez is an exceptional player. The former La Liga icon has been revolutionary for his current club, Gremio as well, raking in 19 goals and providing 16 assists in 46 games for the club. However, the 36-year-old is nearing the end of his career and with Messi upfront, analysts are not sure if it would be the right call for Inter Miami. Discussing the same line of thought, soccer analyst Gabriele Marcotti shares his opinion.
Gabriele Marcotti from the popular ESPN podcast, The Gab and Juls show, shares his take on Inter Miami’s potential signing as he said, “One of the things to note that if you are already playing with Lionel Messi, do I want two guys at a walking pace up front. I think Messi wants to win, I think this whole narrative of oh.. Messi wants all his friends there, but Messi would also probably like a younger guy who can get on the end of his assists and playing the ball into space.”
Marcotti though doesn’t tone down on the quality of Luis Suarez as he said, “I think it’s good but I don’t know if it’s good on this team because we saw Luis Suarez, I haven’t seen much of him at Gremio but I saw plenty of him at Atletico Madrid at the end of his career and he can still contribute but he contributes in a certain way.”
It will be exciting to see the two Barcelona stars lining up together again. However, a former La Liga rival player can also be Messi’s and Suarez’s new teammate. Real Madrid’s move for Kylian Mbappe has made the move more probable for the Herons.
