They targeted Lynn Williams of Kansas City Current in this draft and got her in exchange for the second pick in the draft. The former North Carolina Courage forward is coming back from a lengthy injury that kept her out of last season. It will be interesting to see how the signing of a 29-year-old forward goes for Gotham City.
Lynn Williams made her debut for USWNT in October 2016, after a breakout NWSL season where she won NWSL Golden Boot and Most Valuable Player in the 2016 season. Three times the NWSL champion has 14 international goals in 47 appearances and 63 NWSL goals in 124 appearances. Williams can be the right answer to the Gotham City goal drought, and the club will hope to turn the fortunes in the 2023 season.
Gotham City fans welcome the move by Kevin Durant co-owned club
