The Welsh club was on the brink of failure, but the Deadpool star came to save the day. Under Ryan, Wrexham has become a global brand and are ruling the fifth division league. Moreover, the actor won’t stop until he gets his side into the Premier League.
Besides working for his club, Ryan is often seen supporting the Wrexham community and working toward many causes. And the Hollywood superstar recently took part in another cause.
Wrexham youngsters receive Deadpool-inspired kits
A month ago, Wrexham’s FC United set up an online appeal to raise funds for the new kits for their under-12 futsal team. Hence, the actor funded it to make the process easier for them. The club wanted to raise around £480 for the kits, however, Ryan donated £1,600, triple the amount that they were seeking.
And now the kits have been received by the team’s chairman, Andrew Ruscoe. “The boys received it this week, and they obviously fell in love with it,” he said.

The purple-colored kits even feature a small Deadpool logo in order to honor Ryan’s contribution. Mr. Ruscoe was proud to receive the kits, and the kids also love every bit of it. “They were coming out with comments like ‘this is mint’ and ‘the kits are amazing’ – the smiles on their faces were overwhelming.” he added.
The actor learned about it after a local Wrexham resident, Kayleigh Barton, created a GoFundMe page to raise funds for her son’s futsal team. During the process, she also lost her husband, Adam Bradshaw, who was a local hero and player at FC Queen Park.
