The Peacocks finished just three points above the relegation zone last year, thus keeping themselves in the top tier. Nevertheless, the club is under the leadership of Jesse, who has enough experience on the bench.

The American has managed the likes of Leipzig, Salzburg, and the New York Red Bulls. He was hoping to change Leeds’ fate, however, things are getting tough for the 49-year-old.

Jesse Marsch faces criticism

Things were expected to be different this season after the arrival of a rather young coach. However, Jesse’s side is struggling a lot, as they are currently sitting at 15th in the Premier League.

The former Leipzig man has been facing major criticism and backlash after the Whites’ performance in the Premier League so far. Even if the club performs well, the gaffer often receives boos and jeers from the majority of the audience.

Too much has been said about Leeds’ performance under Marsch as their attack is mainly constrained by poor defense. However, he isn’t the only one to face such a problem, as earlier many coaches in Leed’s have been in the same situation.

And oftentimes, Jess has been defensive about his style of play during press conferences. In fact, he follows a principle that is used at the Etihad Stadium by Pep Guardiola.

“I joke often and say the goal’s in the middle, not on the sidelines or the touchlines. The goal is in the middle, on the end line. And so, when we win balls, we don’t wanna run to the corner, we wanna run to the middle of the pitch where the goal is. And that’s how you score goals.”

This is exactly what Pep says and does at City. Yet Jesse is getting lambasted for his recent remarks.

Fans support the American coach

While some are skeptical about Jesse’s performance as a coach, many are seeing the positives of the manager. With the recent interview, netizens are defending the American coach for the job he’s doing.

Some are angry, as many soccer fans underestimate American coaches and their knowledge of the sport.

It’s fair to say that the Premier League is the most difficult league in the world and managers facing such criticism from the soccer world. However, it takes time and patience for any team to get familiar with a new playing style. Nevertheless, we hope things get good for Jesse and it was great for us to see fans backing the American coach.
