Soon to be turning 25, Zendejas is a young talent in the US soccer squad who represented the nation in the under-17 squad, where he played alongside the likes of Christian Pulisic and Tyler Adams. At the club level, he now plays for a Mexican club, Club America.
However sadly, in the 15th minute of his recent match, the star got injured.
US soccer fans left shocked by Alex Zendeja’s injury
In an offensive play from Laguna, Alex tried to catch up to the opposition player but soon fell to the ground. He was on the ground in agony with what looked like a muscle injury in his right leg. The injury didn’t allow him to continue.
The pain was so much that he couldn’t even leave the pitch on his own and in the 19th minute was taken out on an assist cart and substituted. The match then ended in a 2-2 draw with no further information on Alex’s injury.

The controversy surrounding Alex Zendejas
In August of 2022 and Zendejas found himself in the middle of a controversy. That’s because he played in two friendlies for Mexico without first filling out a one-time switch from the USMNT. Alex Zendejas, for those who do not know, is a dual national. He is eligible to represent both the United States of America and Mexico on an international level.

This led to FIFA ordering Mexico to forfeit all the matches in which Zendejas was listed. This, of course, was a huge blow to the Mexican national team. They had to forfeit all the results of the matches in which he played, which cost them a lot of ranking points.
