The World Cup wasn’t so good for Ighalo. His team lost a match with the arch-rival Ghana. The loss resulted in them failing to qualify for the knockouts. However, in the club world cup, the team would like to forget the world cup and repeat their 2021 FIFA Club World Cup in which they scored 4th place.
Odion Ighalo talked about the Club World Cup
The statement came when Odion Ighalo was talking to FIFA in an interview. He was answering questions related to his move to Al-Hilal and how he felt there. While talking about the move he also talked about how mentally strong his clubmate can be. He also discussed playing at Club World Cup. Stating that it was a huge experienced although playing against big teams like Chelsea was a bit tough.
After the interviewer asked him about his ambitions for the coming title. He said, “This is a very ambitious club. They don’t understand losing. Since I joined, every tournament we go out there to win. The league, the Champions League, the King’s Cup, the Club World Cup. Every game we play is like a final. When you put on the shirt of Al Hilal, you always have to win. We want to go for every trophy. It’s exactly the same for this Club World Cup.” He also then talked about how Al-Hilal can give tough competition to Real Madrid and Chelsea.
