Ben Foster reveals owners’ excitement

Wrexham hero from the Notts County game, Ben Foster, was on Soccer Am recently. He spoke about the feelings of the owners after the game, especially after the penalty save. Foster said“It means so much to them. This club means so much to them. But that moment for them was just for that’s as good as it gets for them. Even they were saying that big big. Rob McElhenney was giving me big kisses on the lips.”

Who would have thought Foster would be playing soccer after taking retirement last year? Wrexham owners called the former Manchester United goalkeeper to convince him to join the club after an injury to Rob Lainton. Foster agreed on a short-term deal till the end of the season and joined Wrexham for the last stretch of the season.

The move to get a 40-year-old proved fruitful after his last-gasp penalty save against Notts County. Wrexham was leading the game 3-2 and got a penalty in the final minute of the added time. Foster rose to the occasion and made a crucial save to give a vital win for Wrexham, which took the club to top of the table.
