On Thursday morning, League Two side Gillingham AFC saw a few of their stars getting involved in a tragic car accident. Horrific footage surfaced that showed the aftermath of a serious car crash on a quaint suburban road. The clip shows a luxury BMW sedan sliding from the corner of the road and turning 360 degrees, only to collide with a wall where a Lexus SUV was parked.

While the whole driveway wall was damaged, the airbags of the car opened saving the players from severe injuries. The players involved in the crash are former Crystal Palace and Wales star Jonny Williams, along with Timothee Dieng, Macauley Bonne, and George Lapsie. As of now, Gillingham AFC, who are currently one of the frontrunners of the League Two table, have not commented on the incident. The accident, however, has led to a flurry of concern on X (formerly Twitter).

As per the reports, the players are not severely injured but have sustained some injuries, the specifics are yet to be confirmed by the club. Additionally, the crash comes just hours before Gillingham plays Colchester today in League Two. They also play Wrexham in early November.

While some prayed for the players, many fans were not impressed with the rash driving of Gillingham’s player. After the crash, however, a few players could be seen standing next to the vehicle while still wearing their training kit, assessing the extent of the damage to the car, and looking relatively unharmed themselves.

A few other fans chose humor at a time of sadness and made some cheeky puns.

As for Wrexham, they will be hoping to get a win in their today’s League Two fixture against Barrow AFC.

Today, Wrexham will be locking horns against Barrow AFC for Matchday Five. Phil Parkinson’s side will travel to Holker Street in order to grab three points from the home side. A win is crucial for the Red Dragons as they haven’t started the campaign on the strongest foot. And so, they are currently sitting in 15th place with just five points in hand, which includes 1W, 2D, and 1L.
