It sure was a happening day for USMNT. The American boys managed to secure an emphatic 4-2 win over Jamaica in the return leg of the CONCACAF Nations League semi-finals. Then again, more than the victory, the spotlight remained on Christian Pulisic, who not only scored an emphatic brace and celebrated with a cheeky Donald Trump-inspired dance but also etched his name in the history books. That only saw his beloved girlfriend Alexa Melton join the celebrations.
The pro-golfer, who has allegedly been dating the AC Milan forward since the beginning of this year, took to Instagram stories and shared a reel showcasing Pulisic’s deadlock-breaking goal for the USMNT. In fact, aside from sharing to commend his boyfriend’s phenomenal efforts, she added three emojis, “🦅🇺🇸🕺🏻.”
This was a clear indication that just more than his goal, Melton was impressed with Pulisic’s post-goal celebrations. The 26-year-old had actually put his team ahead with a precise finish 13 minutes into the match, following an assist from Weston McKennie. After scoring, the AC Milan forward sprinted to the corner to celebrate, jumping high, extending his arms, swiveling his hips, and gesturing with his hands near his waist. He danced for a few moments before his teammates gathered around, offering hugs and pats on the back.

Notably, he wasn’t alone in doing so as other players had joined him in doing the dance. The likes of Yunus Musah, Weston McKennie, and Ricardo Pepi were the first ones to join their fellow skipper in celebrating the opener and when Pulisic was doing so with his Trump dance, the trio had also followed suit. If it had been up to the American players, they would have celebrated similarly after every goal.
However, it seems Pulisic’s Trump dance overshadowed the victory and became the main talking point. While some praised the celebration, others were frustrated and turned against the former Borussia Dortmund star. His actions split the American audience on social media, further alienating anti-Donald Trump supporters.
Fortunately, just like Pulisic’s girlfriend, Alexi Lalas was also quick to step in and support the USMNT star’s celebrations. Why wouldn’t he, considering he was the star of the show tonight?

Mr. Captain America gave full main character vibes during today’s game. The former Borussia Dortmund star scored a brace within the first 30 minutes, with both assists coming from Weston McKennie. Both of his goals, however, were particularly significant as they made Christian Pulisic the fastest player in USMNT history to reach 50 goal contributions.

Later, Ricardo Pepi added another to make it 3-0 before halftime. Although Jamaica’s Demarai Gray pulled one back early in the second half, Timothy Weah increased the USMNT’s lead. Gray’s efforts to inspire a Jamaican comeback were in vain, as the match concluded with Pochettino and Co. advancing to the finals with a 5-2 aggregate victory.
It was indeed a good day at the office for both USMNT and especially Christian Pulisic. Perhaps the night may see him celebrate this day with his girlfriend by doing more shimmy dance at home!
