The Welsh club is eyeing a promotion to the fourth division, which would be a historic moment for fans. Furthermore, their cup run is going smoothly, as they reached the fourth round of the campaign.
Wrexham is set to face Sheffield United in the fourth round of soccer’s oldest competition, the FA Cup. They will be looking to get into the fifth round for the first time since 1996, when they reached the quarterfinals.
Ryan Reynolds gets cheeky before Wrexham’s biggest challenge
Ryan and Rob are often seen supporting their club before any match, after all, they have an inevitable bond with the squad. And just before the match, they did it in a rather different style.
The Hollywood superstars shared a video featuring Blades fanatic Joe Elliott. The clip shows all three in massive waggish taunts about the clash, with the help of Def Leppard song title puns.
The trio has used different songs, including ‘Foolin,’ ‘Hysteria’ and ‘Bringin’ On the Heartbreak’. Moreover, there is also McElhenney’s TV show song, Mystic Quest.

Ryan tweeted with a caption, “Take it from noted sugar expert Joe Elliott of @DefLeppard – @wrexham_afc vs @SheffieldUnited is gonna be sweet. Watch live on @ESPNPlus this SUNDAY.”
This is the Red Dragons’ second-biggest challenge, they faced the Blades back in 1983 for the first round and suffered a heavy defeat of 5-1. Sheffield is coming off an easy 2-0 win against Millwall.
Whereas, Wrexham won a 7-goal thriller against Coventry, winning 3-4. Nevertheless, fans are looking forward to this exciting fixture, with owners Ryan and Rob pumping up the boys.
Fans react to Reynolds’ tweet
With this tweet, soccer fans around the world are reacting to the hysterical video in their own way. Since there are two clubs in the city, Sheffield United and Wednesday, Ryan mistakenly just says Sheffield. Hence many fans are barging Twitter on the occasion.

Embarrassing video Ryan. It’s not like the USA with one team, one city. There is the most famous and oldest Sheffield club @sheffieldfc alongside the Mickey Mouse clubs Wednesday and United.

It is fair to say that both Ryan and Rob are new to European soccer as they don’t know all the basic slang and names of domestic clubs. Nevertheless, we think fans must show mercy on the new owners, who are still settling in quite well.
