It was time for the CONCACAF Champions League as MLS side Philadelphia Union played the first leg of the Round of 16. The Union traveled to El Salvador to lock horns with Alianza FC.

Both teams gave everything they had on the pitch, but neither side could break the deadlock. The match ended in a stalemate with a goalless draw. The result might have failed to entertain us, but an incident took place that surely caught the eye of fans.

During the 68th minute, Alianza FC was given a throw-in, and as soon as the player gave the ball to his teammate, a pitch invader came to halt the game. However, this wasn’t any ordinary pitch invader. It was a dog that made its appearance known and invaded the pitch.

This isn’t the first time an animal, specifically a dog, has invaded the pitch. However, this invader was quite special, as he dazzled everyone with his amazing ball control.

It wasn’t a good day at the office for the MLS clubs in the competition.

A stalemate for MLS clubs

Philadelphia Union wasn’t the only MLS side that gave us an upset. Austin FC also traveled to Haiti to play against Violette. Los Verdes was poor in the first leg as they lost 3-0 against Le Vieux Tigre.

A brace from Miche-Naider Chéry in the first half was enough to win the game. However, things got worse after the match resumed as Amro Tarek scored an own goal, thus gifting a goal to the opposition.

Orlando City also traveled to Mexico to play against the Tigres UNAL. In fact, that match also ended in a goalless draw as neither side could conjure up a better display.

It was a poor performance from the MLS clubs, who must be looking for a win, nevertheless, there’s still time to fight in the second leg. Whatever you say, the dog truly stole the show and was the best highlight of the game.
