Wrexham clearly outperformed their opponents in the first half, although it remained a goalless affair. The visiting team dominated the initial phases of the match, impressing their manager Phil Parkinson. Despite their clear superiority, they were unable to find the back of the net, thus resulting in the first half ending in a stalemate.

Wrexham picked up from where they left and again moved the ball around to find a goal. Thankfully, their efforts paid off as Aaron Hayden broke the deadlock in the 56th minute. Despite pushing all the buttons, Tranmere couldn’t clinch an equalizer to spoil Wrexham’s party. The final whistle blew which led Phil Parkinson to jump off his seat in excitement. Following the win fans took over the social media platform X.

Wrexham had been actively searching to bolster their squad and find a replacement for the injured Paul Mullin. While they had a few players in mind, the Welsh side swiftly made a bid for Harrogate Town striker Luke Armstrong. Unfortunately, despite both parties agreeing to an undisclosed fee of $435,000, the deal fell through for the 27-year-old. The news came following an official statement released by the third-oldest club on their website.

While refraining from further comment on the matter, Wrexham expressed their sentiments by stating, “The Club would like to thank the player for choosing to join Wrexham earlier in the day and are disappointed that this cannot now happen.” Indeed, it’s a significant setback for Reynolds and his team. They will now have to patiently await Mullin’s recovery to fill the No. 9 position.
