Wrexham AFC recently shared a crucial update on the squad. One of those updates was a new contract offered to Ben Foster. The club signed him on a three-month deal after their starting goalkeeper Rob Laiton was injured. Foster proved his worth by saving an important penalty that saw the Red Dragons clinch the Vanarama National League title.
Meanwhile, the former Manchester United goalkeeper is yet to decide on the contract offer of Wrexham. He will take his time, as it’s a massive decision to make after coming out of retirement to join his former club. Amid the contract deal on the table, Foster made a huge claim regarding the Chelsea superstar.

With the summer transfer window approaching, clubs have started to work on their transfer targets and contract renewals of players. The future of many players is in the air. One such player is Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount with a market value of $70 million. The talks between the club and the player, whose contract is expiring in 2024, have halted, as per reports. Chelsea is ready to sell him, and Foster urged his former club to sign him.
Ben Foster was on The United Stand podcast with Mark Goldbridge, where he talked about Mason Mount. “I like Mason Mount. It’s inevitable he is going to go. It’s a strange one for me, if I was Chelsea, I’m playing Mason Mount in the majority of games. He’s the sort of players you need in midfield. He will give you pure graft and work rate. Those are the player you need. If you could get him for £50 million £60 million, get him through the door,” Foster said.
United are looking to go big in the market after missing out on the Premier League. They last won it in 2013, when Sir Alex Ferguson was at the helm. United is yet to win the title and will hope to pose a challenge for the title next season by spending big in the summer.
