We are just hours away from the kickoff of Euro 2024 as hosts Germany faces Scotland at home. A lot has changed in the last four years, with Die Mannschaft taking to the field under new head coach Julian Nagelsmann. Well, the former Bayern boss, with his arrival, has also brought a fresh change to the team.

The coach left out multiple senior players who played a crucial role during the last Euros with the team, hoping to lift the silverware with a mix of youth and experience. Nagelsmann will rely on his ever-trusty shot-stopper Manuel Neuer, who has been handed the captain’s armband for the tournament.

Out of the 26 players selected for the Euros, only 11 soccer players made the squad in the previous edition.

Notable names that did not make the cut include Timo Werner, Leon Goretzka, Serge Gnabry, Lukas Klostermann, Niklas Süle, and Matt Hummels.

Young Stars to Watch out for

Nico Schlotterbeck: The center-back is coming into the team on the back of sensational performances for his club. Schlotterbeck was rock solid in defense throughout the season and played a huge role in Borussia Dortmund’s journey to the Champions League final.

Jamal Musiala: If you weren’t familiar with Jamal Musiala’s game in 2020, the past four years have seen the Bayern star establish himself as one of the finest midfielders. The player can control the midfield and also chip into the attack, providing Julian Nagelsmann with a deadly combo.

Julian Nagelsmann is known for his high-up-the-field pressing approach. The manager will probably rely on his trusty midfielders to create room for his attackers. With all things considered, Nagelsmann will presumably field a 4-2-3-1 formation for the Euros.
