The video seems to be from the time she was traveling overseas. In this interesting clip, the Latin American singer accurately predicted a certain type of technology while it barely existed back then.
Shakira correctly predicted the use of phones!
The Twitter account that posted that video claims that it was from 2002. The video is seemingly from when Shakira was touring Japan. In the video, she is around a few of her Japanese companions. All of a sudden, one of them pulls out a flip phone and takes a picture of the Colombian star. However, Shakira seemed extremely confused by what was happening around her.

She inquisitively asked, “Is that a camera?”. Her Japanese friend immediately agreed. A surprised Shakira gets hold of the flip phone and begins inspecting it. She then says, “This one doesn’t work in America no? Because I think all the paparazzis will click”. Everyone in the room then has a good chuckle at the singers’ comments. She then asked whether the flip phone could take videos or not.
