After the game, the couple headed to a well-known nightclub in the same city, along with friends, including Ibai Llanos. According to Univision, during their visit, the ex-Barca star personally approached the DJ, requesting him to refrain from playing Shakira’s songs. According to the ‘Socialité’ program, the commentator Miguel Ángel Rech revealed some inside details through a witness. As translated by DeepL, he said, “One of the striking things is the request that Pique makes, more than that it is a condition not to leave, which is that no Shakira song is played.” The individual reportedly claimed to have approached the DJ and asked him to play ‘Waka Waka,’ to which he responded, “They won’t let me.” The Shakira-Pique tussle reached messy heights as they ended their long relationship.
