“They Didn’t Like My Voice”- Shakira Once Failed to Strike the Right Chords in Teenage Years Despite Winning 3 Grammys

Like all the others, Shakira also started as a normal singer back in Colombia. Her standing today is basically only due to her sheer hard work and resilience.

The Grammy Award winner has created a legacy for herself across the globe. A few years ago, the Colombian star revealed an extremely harsh truth.

She shockingly claimed that life wasn’t easy for her when she was young. Everyone around her used to make fun of her voice.

The Latin American star’s life might be full of roses now. However, she once reminded the world that it wasn’t this easy when was much younger. She shockingly revealed that her own school teachers weren’t supportive of her.

In a conversation with NDTV, she said, “They didn’t like my voice. They didn’t let me enter the school choir. Yeah that’s a big frustration for me”. Her fans were delighted when she revealed that her father was her main source of motivation.

She quoted, “Luckily my dad was as stubborn as me and he always encouraged me and said no, no your voice is amazing. Someday they will know”. The Colombian singer then humbly admitted that she had found her ‘signature thing’ that still helps her to date. She said, “Because I had a very powerful vibrato you know. Which I still keep, a every signature thing of mine”.

“But back in the day it was kind of little disrupting for the rest of the choir”. She then concluded by revealing what most of her classmates used to call her. The fans were absolutely stunned after getting to know this fact. She shockingly revealed, “Many of my classmates used to say Shakira you sing like a goat,” added the 46-year-old pop icon.

In the end, her father helped her move forward. And she didn’t pay attention to any of her critics.

She is one of the very few artists who has managed to stay relevant through her long and drawn-out music career. However, the 46-year-old is currently enjoying another ‘peak’ in her career. This all happened after she released her diss track about a month ago.

Shakira re-peaked and become popular all over again like she was back in 2010. The Grammy Award winner released a diss track against her ex-boyfriend, Gerard Pique. The popular celebrity couple broke up last year.

However, Shakira’s diss track has torn the internet apart. Even a month after its release, the track still tops several American Billboard charts. It’s safe to say that the Waka-Waka singer is now living a peaceful life with her children feeling more accomplished than ever.
