Popular American singer and actress, Becky G has recently been in the news. The singer is seemingly facing a similar situation to Shakira. The internet was stunned after they couldn’t spot Becky G’s engagement ring on her fingers. Similar to Shakira, the American singer has recently been part of an infidelity controversy.

Her fiancé, Sebastian Lletget reportedly had a “10-minute lapse” in judgment that has led to this major controversy.

In relation to the Becky G situation, the internet has shamelessly drawn direct comparisons with the Shakira – Pique controversy.

What is the Becky G controversy all about?

Rebbeca Marie Gomez aka Becky G has recently been the talk of the town. Recently, the popular singer was at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. Despite winning an award for Best Latin/Pop Reggaeton Song of the Year, everyone’s attention was elsewhere. While she posed for pictures on the red carpet, a few fans noticed a very minute change in her jewelry.

They couldn’t spot Becky G’s engagement ring on her fingers. Putting everything into context, the American singer and her fiancé were in a complex infidelity controversy just hours before the award show. However, the details of the controversy aren’t very clear yet. The infidelity incident reportedly took place in 2022 when the soccer star was at a nightclub in Madrid.

Just a day ago, Lletget posted a public statement in reference to the controversy on Instagram. He admitted, “Over the last several weeks, during a moment I regret deeply, a 10-minute lapse in judgment resulted in an extortion plot”. This situation is certainly far more complicated than it sounds. The MLS star revealed that this matter has become public after a ‘certain person’ did not get what they asked for.
