However, the Colombian still has a bit of unfinished business after relocating to Miami. Recent reports suggest that she is looking for a new residence in America. Currently, she lives in a premium area with celebrity neighbors like Matt Damon. But Shakira wants more privacy from the paparazzi.

The 46-year-old is reportedly concerned with her kids’ livelihood in the country. Just to keep them in a safe space, she does not want Milan and Sasha to interact with their children. Reports suggest that the musician is planning to purchase a property from this particular area.

Where does Shakira want to buy a new property?

As per Hola, the hunt for a brand-new residence is up and running. Shakira is currently looking for a place that is not so far away from her current beach house. The report strongly suggests that she has taken a liking to a certain area, namely Fisher Island. This is an exclusive area located in Florida itself. The 1300 residents of that area reportedly earn more than $2.5 million annually.

This luxurious island has about 87 hectares connected to Miami Beach. Other superstars like Julia Roberts, Oprah Winfrey, and many more reside in the same area. The Waka–Waka singer will have to pay an entry fee of $250,000 to live in this exclusive area. A person can only reach Fisher Island via ferry or helicopter.

Most of the celebrities in the area use Fisher Island as their getaway destination during the summer. From supermarkets to tennis courts, this locality has it all. Finally, the report claims that a mansion in this locality will cost Shakira at least one million dollars. Property rates of Fisher Island could also exceed upwards of forty million.

Other than the new residence, the Colombian singer will also need to pay for a few more expenses.

Shakira’s high costs after leaving Spain

In the last few months, Shakira has been dealing with a health crisis in her family. William Mebarak, her father, suffered major head trauma after a tragic fall in 2022. However, his road to recovery has been quite slow. To speed up the same, he was going to undergo surgery. However, another health setback and inferior medical technology meant that the singer had to get her father to America.

Currently, she will definitely be on the lookout for a technologically advanced hospital. Her mother suffered blood clots in her leg about a month ago. But she is better at the moment. Apart from medical expenses, Shakira will also have to bear ‘half’ the cost of her children’s school fees. The singer is prepared to pay a gigantic five-figure amount in order to give her kids the best education.
