She seemingly wanted to safeguard the well-being of her children. Amidst the toxic environment in Spain, her ex-boyfriend simply became a laughingstock for the fanbase.

As soon as 2023 began, several reports claimed that Shakira was done with Spain. She wanted a new environment with new people. Hence, she figured out that moving to her preexisting beach house mansion in America would be the right option. While the idea wasn’t bad, why would she choose to move to a new country? Didn’t she consider moving back to Colombia?

A recent report claims that she did consider moving back to her hometown. However, she immediately dropped the plan. Celebrity journalist, Edgar Garcia Ochoa knows Shakira from the tender age of ten. He first met the talented singer through William Mebarak, her father. In recent times, Garcia revealed that she has ‘mixed feelings’ about her hometown.

He reveals that the singer is very resentful of the people in her hometown. She believes that her family and herself received ‘undignified treatment’ from their own people. Hence, she simply felt that going to a group of people who do not support her family could invite unnecessary headaches.

Apart from that, the Waka–Waka singer is looking for a brand-new residence in America despite already having a gigantic one.

A recent report by Hola claims that Shakira has already spotted a new place in America. That area is a highly exclusive and expensive area, namely Fisher Island. Every resident on Fisher Island earns at least $2.5 million per annum. The 46-year-old will reportedly have to pay $250,000 as an entry fee. Further, a residence in the area will cost her an amount ranging from one million to forty million.

Interestingly, a visitor can only reach Fisher Island by either ferry or helicopter. As the area is inaccessible by road, it mainly avoids tons of unwanted paparazzi. However, Shakira might not have to bear all the costs alone. A recent report suggested the Colombian singer could buy her new home with her best friend turned new love.
