At nearly 40 years old, there is undoubtedly no stopping Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese superstar isn’t leaving any territory uncharted, as this time he broke the record for most goals scored in a single Saudi Pro League season during Al Nassr’s victory in a six-goal thriller against Al Ittihad. As soccer fans around the world praise the skipper, his beloved girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, reacted to Ronaldo’s heroics with a heartwarming message.

The Spanish-Argentinian influencer was one of the usual attendees for the Knights of the Najd’s home game. As the match ended, she posted a clip on her Instagram story, where Ronaldo is standing in the dugout for a post-match interview. As she zooms on her boyfriend, CR7 smiles and waves at her. Rodriguez also wrote a caption saying, “Nuevo récord ❤. Máximo goleador de la historia en la liga Arabe 🙏🏻.” As translated by DeepL, she wrote, “New record. Top scorer in the history of the Arab League.”

Notably, the feat came with his remarkable brace, including a first-half goal and another strike after the hour mark brought his tally to 35 goals. In addition to breaking the Saudi Pro League’s record for most goals in a single season, the Portuguese superstar also ends the season as the league’s Golden Boot winner. Ironically, Ronaldo took this crown from Al Nassr’s former striker and current Al Ittihad star, Abderrazak Hamdallah, who had scored 34 goals during the 2018/19 campaign.

Following his brace, the 39-year-old was subbed off, missing out on getting a hat trick as Abdulrahman Ghareeb made it 3-0 from the spot. While visitors tried to ignite a shocking comeback despite being 10 men down, Meshari Al-Nemer added a fourth to put the game to bed. Meanwhile, even after breaking a record, Ronaldo missed out on a key feat.

Despite shining against Al Ittihad, Cristiano Ronaldo missed out on a major record!

In contrast to his Real Madrid days, where he scored five goals on two occasions, Cristiano Ronaldo did not manage to score the most goals in a single Roshn League game this season. Sami Al-Jaber’s six goals during Al Hilal’s 8-0 win over Al-Raed in 1990 remains the highest by any player in a single league game. Unfortunately, his failure doesn’t end here!

The skipper also fell short of breaking the record for the most goals scored by a foreign player, with former Al-Ahli star Djaniny leading the chart with five goals. Notably, CR7 has only scored four goals in a single match, which occurred during a 0-4 win over Al Wehda last season. Perhaps next season, he can strive to achieve these records.
