“Ronaldo can even score 3,000 goals but doesn’t know how to play football.” These words from Antonio Cassano seem to have shaken up the soccer world. The former Italian striker made this shocking claim while commenting on the Portuguese superstar’s recent achievement of 900 career goals. While it remains to be seen whether Cristiano Ronaldo will fire a response to Cassano, Georgina Rodriguez instead had a pre-planned reply on his behalf.
Just when you think it ended on Cassano’s behalf, wait until you hear what more he said. “Higuain, Lewandowski, Benzema, Aguero, Ibrahimovic, Suarez… they know how to play team football but Cristiano… what is your goal? Goal, goal, goal, goal,” said the former Lazio man, highlighting Ronaldo’s alleged selfish nature of prioritizing his individual goal tally.
But the Al Nassr star isn’t required to send a statement as his beloved girlfriend looks to have proudly done so in the latest release of Season 3 of ‘I Am Georgina (Soy Georgina),’ a Netflix documentary on Rodriguez. “Cristiano was the top scorer again this year. Best in the world, across all leagues. And well, in the end, the numbers don’t lie,” she said in S3 EP5 while praising her significant other’s goalscoring ability.

Notably, this statement was said by the Argentinian-Spanish influencer before Ronaldo even reached this tally. She mentioned it when he beat the likes of Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, and Harry Kane in scoring over 50 goals in a single calendar year. However, Rodriguez’s claim does convey the feeling, and Cassano can consider it a response on behalf of Ronaldo.
Eyebrows rise over the fact Antonio Cassano himself played for Real Madrid but left a year before Ronaldo arrived at the Bernabeu. He didn’t win many trophies and has recorded just 139 goals, and 118 assists in over 515 appearances for all the eight clubs he has represented in his career. Yet, the former AC Milan, Inter, and AS Roma star has always remained critical of CR7.
A couple of years ago, when Ronaldo struggled during his second spell at Manchester United, Cassano urged the former Sporting CP star to “do himself a favor and end his career.” The former Italian international added, “I have a lot of respect for CR7, but I don’t like him as a player.” It’s a clear indication that Antonio doesn’t fancy Ronaldo.
Regardless, in the eyes of Rodriguez and most of the soccer world, Ronaldo remains a trailblazer. Even the 5x Ballon d’Or winner’s own sister defended her superstar brother.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister takes a dig at Antonio Cassano over recent remarks!
Elma Aveiro is the latest to defend Cristiano Ronaldo, taking to Instagram to suggest that Antonio Cassano’s criticism stems from his inability to match her brother’s accomplishments. “One wakes up to these things. I don’t know this poor guy. It doesn’t matter, but just one thing for him, he doesn’t know how to score 900 goals. Imagine if he did,” Elma wrote on Instagram.

While Cassano claimed that Ronaldo doesn’t play as part of a team, Elma questioned whether the former Italian player even knew the game, much less how to play it collectively. “They say he was a footballer. I think they’re wrong, he was certainly a ball boy,” Elma added in another Instagram story.
Well, that was indeed a huge dig on Cassano. It remains to be how quickly this matter will cool down.
