Yes, we too are taken aback, but admit it—this is exactly what one expects from a Premier League game. The cold night turned out to be a rather disappointing one for Liverpool as they settled for a 2-2 draw against Fulham at Anfield. While kudos go to the away side for holding their ground, Marco Silva has rather shed light on the ‘great‘ display from none other than Antonee Robinson.
The left-back does deserve a special mention, having played a crucial role in his side’s inch-away win, but a deserving draw. Aside from creating a decent four chances in the game, winning five duels, completing two tackles, and providing two assists as well. If that’s not enough to convince you, Robinson single-handedly managed to end Mohamed Salah’s Premier League goalscoring streak at seven.
That had to garner praise from Marco Silva, who in the post-match press conference, didn’t forget to give a shoutout to the USMNT star. As compiled by @lhenry019 on X, the Fulham boss stated, “What a performance, difficult to talk about it, and it’s not for the first time. A great athlete and the way he has been improving, he is always open-minded and has been improving.”

Further heaping praise over the 27-year-old, Silva mentioned Antonee’s yet another remarkable feat of being the full-back in the Premier League with the most assists in open play this season before mentioning his crucial attacking and defensive contributions in the game. “Playing against Salah, the way he was assertive, aggressive and got a yellow card but was still aggressive in a good way. The way he works, he has been great for us,” concluded Silva.
Notably, Robinson is one of the names that has been giving clutch performances this season for the Cottagers. The American full-back looks to be chasing the assist chart, tying alongside Amad Diallo and Cole Palmer with six assists so far, but way behind Mohamed Salah and Bukayo Saka, who are tussling for the top spot with 9 and 10 assists respectively.
While the away side’s full-back seem to have become the apple of everyone’s eye, the rival side’s one had a rather traumatic match.

While Antonee Robinson shined, the rival left-back was down on his luck!
Liverpool found themselves trailing during the 11 minutes after Andreas Pereira capitalized on a slight defensive lapse by Andy Robertson, who left the Fulham midfielder unmarked. Pereira converted a spectacular acrobatic effort following a perfectly executed cross-field play by Antonee Robinson. Another key moment saw Fulham launch a precise long ball aimed at former Reds winger Harry Wilson.
Although Robertson appeared poised to intercept and clear the danger, the Scottish left-back failed to gain control, allowing Wilson to make a sharp run toward Alisson Becker. Left with no other option, the 30-year-old made a last-ditch challenge to stop his compatriot from doubling Fulham’s lead, bringing Wilson down in the process.

Referee Tony Harrington immediately blew his whistle and, after a moment of unclear communication, pulled out a red card, leaving Anfield in shock. His decision, skipping a yellow and going straight to red, stirred debate, as it seemed to exist in a gray area. However, Harrington appeared firm in his judgment, reducing Liverpool to ten men.
Despite the setback, Liverpool fought on with difficulty. Cody Gakpo managed to find an equalizer, but Rodrigo Muniz restored Fulham’s lead around the three-quarter mark of the match. Just as it seemed the Reds were headed for defeat, Diogo Jota stepped up to rescue a point with a late goal, ensuring a dramatic 2-2 draw.
