Al Nassr has invested a lot of money in bringing change for itself as well as soccer in the country. But the club hasn’t received adequate rewards for its investments. Backed by the money-rich PIF, the club catalyzed a revolution unexpectedly bringing Cristiano Ronaldo which resulted in a series of star-studded signings. However, one major signing did not prove to be satisfactory for the player and the club has granted his wish to exit. Nevertheless, the club in yellow appears to have avoided monetary loss after a trophyless season.

Al Nassr has been successful in getting a fair deal for Ayemric Laporte to send him back to Europe. The Knights of Narjd have accepted a deal of not less than $16 million approximately from La Liga side Athletic Bilbao, according to 365 scores via @X99i3 on X. This comes after a lot of talks covering the possibility of Laporte’s exit from the club after the season. Earlier, the Athletic club’s offer of $7.5 million was rejected outrightly by Cristiano Ronaldo’s club which has already faced a dormant season despite spending big.

The Spaniard joined the club from Riyadh on a three-year contract from Manchester City last season for $27m per year. Since the deal seems to be getting terminated 2 years ahead, the Knights were not willing to leave the player for a loss. The club would have chosen to keep the player hypothetically, but Laporte getting homesick about Europe is leaving no option for Al Nassr.

Meanwhile, the former Premier League winner wasn’t content with the hospitality in the Middle East and chose to be vocal about it. He also claimed that a few players also shared a similar feeling. But for Al Nassr, the club is not adamant about any forced retentions but has already set their targets for the future.

Al Nassr is awaiting a major change to their defense in the upcoming season. Apart from Laporte, the club will also lose the services of goalkeeper David Ospina. But the club appears to have found replacements for both. Reports suggest that Cristiano Ronaldo contacted former mates Nacho and Casemiro to join him in Riyadh. Additionally, Al Nassr has aimed at signing Ederson from Manchester City, and the latest reports reveal that they have eyed, Poland goalie Wojciech Szczesny, who played alongside Ronaldo at Juventus.

However, the Poland international’s deal looks more realistic as Pep Guardiola won’t seem to leave the team’s #1 that easily. In addition, Al Nassr is also aiming for defender Raphael Varane who is expected to leave Manchester United this summer. Overall, a lot of options seem to be available for the Saudi giants, but whether they would acquire the desired target only time will reveal.
