At that time, Shakira was just 20 years old, while Rios was already 37. Their relationship lasted for about three years. Several years later, Rios once revealed that they were going to get married, but it never ended up working out for either of them.

Antonio de la Rua: Shakira dated Antonio for over a decade. The celebrity duo reportedly began their relationship in 2000 right up till 2011. Antonio was a lawyer and also former Argentine President, Fernando de la Rua’s son. However, they were plagued with different problems during those eleven years due to Antonio’s political links.

Antonio continued to work as Shakira’s lawyer even after the couple broke up. However, a few years after they split, Antonio sued Shakira for over $100 million of unpaid settlements and dues to his legal team. Gerard Pique: Immediately after breaking up with Antonio, the Colombian star met Gerard Pique. The celebrity duo met while shooting for ‘Waka – Waka’. At that time, Shakira was at the peak of her career. Years later, Shakira told Elle that meeting Pique was like “the sun coming out” in her life. Shakira dated the Spanish soccer star for about a decade too. Everything seemed so perfect between the two. However, in 2022 reports on Gerard Pique’s infidelity surfaced on the news.

A few weeks later, the celebrity couple announced their breakup while revealing that their two children were their priority. Since the breakup, Shakira has openly spoken about her life. Soon after the breakup, the Colombian star was also hit with a tax fraud allegation, which she also described as the darkest moment of her life.
