It would be an understatement to say that Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are top of the world. After all, their club, Wrexham AFC, just got promoted to EFL League One. As such, this is the second consecutive promotion in as many years for the Welsh club. Two more promotions, and we will witness the Red Dragons compete in the top flight of English soccer, the Premier League. However, a promotion brings other benefits than just playing at a higher level. One of them is the opportunity to attract better sponsorship deals.
Since Reynolds and McElhenney took charge of the club in February 2021, things have turned out for the best. It includes better sponsorship opportunities as well. With Wrexham having a strong case to land another major deal, let’s look at some of the big sponsorship deals in the club’s recent history.

Gatorade
It’s barely been 24 hours since Wrexham AFC penned an agreement with Gatorade, a division of Pepsico. It means the American brand will be the official drink sponsor for both the clubs’ men’s and women’s teams. The benefits don’t stop there, as Wrexham players will also have access to the Gatorade Sports Science Institute, where they can monitor their health and performance. Gatorade general manager Michael Del Pozzo does not doubt that this deadly fusion of sports and entertainment will expand its reach to new audiences globally.
STōK Cold Brew
In May 2023, STōK Cold Brew announced a ground-breaking partnership with Wrexham AFC. Consequently, the coffee brand became the official stadium sponsor of the Red Dragons. The deal came at a crucial time as it infused the club with desperately needed financial support. The 159-year-old Racecourse Ground Stadium was renamed STōK Racecourse after this. Despite being one of the oldest stadiums in the world, this was the first occasion when Racecourse Ground got its own sponsor! Talk about blooming late.
United Airlines
When Wrexham penned a landmark shirt-sponsorship deal with United Airlines, it reflected the gigantic progress made under Reynolds and McElhenney’s tenure. Having one of the largest airlines in the world emblazoned on the club’s jerseys showcased Wrexham’s growing status in soccer. As per Reynolds, the goal was to seek out a sponsor “that match the spirit of both Wrexham Association Football Club and the people of Wrexham” and, safe to say, they got this and much more with United Airlines.

Vista Print
In July 2022, Wrexham welcomed Vista Print as the sleeve sponsor of the Men’s team. Vista Print established itself as an e-commerce company specializing in producing marketing solutions for small businesses. The contract was for two years. Strikingly, this partnership is not just limited to soccer, as Vista Print is set to help small businesses in the region. Thus, this would deliver benefits to the wider community.
