USWNT icon Megan Rapinoe is set to hang up her boots in the coming weeks. The OL Reign star has had a successful career winning two World Cup titles in her highly decorated career. 1. Sue Bird (2016 – Present)

It is hard to imagine Megan Rapinoe with anyone apart from her fiancee Sue Bird. The duo is one of the most beloved couples across America, with the two constantly taking their platform to talk about each other. The duo first met during the 2016 Olympics and instantly hit it off. While Rapinoe was still dating someone after meeting Bird, the two felt an emotional connection between each other.

Bird made sure that Rapinoe ended things with her previous partner before they could start seeing each other. The two have been through thick and thin with Bird publicly defending her partner after she lashed out against former President Donald Trump. The two have often expressed their love for each other throughout the years.

The duo announced their engagement in 2020 through a social media post. With both players busy with their respective careers, they have mentioned in multiple interviews that they are in no hurry to tie the knot.

2. Sera Cahoone (2015-2016)

While many know Megan Rapinoe for her relationship with sportspersons, the soccer star also dated musician Sera Cahoone. The duo proposed to each other in 2015, exchanging the rings. However, things soon fizzled out between the duo as Rapinoe, who was struggling to recover from an injury and train for the Olympics, and her partner, who was also grieving the loss of her cousin. Both of them were seemingly drained and the relationship started to decline.

3. Abby Wambach (2013-2014)

Before dating Sue Bird, Rapinoe was in a highly documented relationship with fellow USWNT teammate Abby Wambach. The news came off as a big surprise for fans who thought that the two players were great friends. Rapinoe was the one who broke the news as she informed the media that she was dating her fellow teammate. While the two were inseparable early in their relationship, things hit an iceberg.

Wambach, who suffered an injury, tried to rely on Rapinoe as her mental support to cope with things. However, Rapinoe was not ready for it and the situation scared her. She started to invest less time in the relationship which ended up in them parting ways.
