Spanish media outlets have reported that Pique found himself in the position of having to choose between his children and his girlfriend. To address this predicament, he signed a clause stipulating that his children would not reside with Clara. However, Clara was not the only reason. Shakira felt betrayed by Pique’s mother and the bride Maria, Marc’s then longtime girlfriend, as they hid the former Barcelona star’s infidelity. However, Shakira’s stance undoubtedly placed him in a delicate situation.

Before the wedding, Pique decided to make a trip to Miami to leave the children in the care of their mother and then went on to attend the wedding alongside Clara.
