In the past, before joining Wrexham, Ben Foster was also part of Manchester United back in 2005-2010. He made a total of 23 appearances for the Red Devils and later transferred to Birmingham City. Foster admits that his time with Manchester United wasn’t pleasant, as he wasn’t ready for the challenge.

The Wrexham goalie has voiced his views on the club once again, this time with regards to De Gea’s exit. Foster believes the former Red Devil player deserved more respect for his past contributions.

It’s common knowledge that De Gea has played an important role in the club’s success. During his time with the Red Devils, De Gea made over 500 appearances and won a Premier League title, an FA Cup, two League Cups, and the UEFA Europa League.

Foster said, “I didn’t like the manner in which David de Gea left. I really didn’t. Considering what David has done for Manchester United over the years, he deserved more respect. Football is cutthroat.”

“Sometimes you get players who will angle for more money or a bigger contract. And then the fans pile in and give them dog’s abuse. But with de Gea he’s given Manchester United over ten years of service and has won the Player of the Year multiple times. He’s been incredible and the way they dealt with his exit was disappointing,” he added.
