Lionel Messi winning the World Cup with Argentina is one for the history books. In fact, La Pulga’s achievement was so remarkable that a documentary chronicling his entire journey was tabled. As it turned out to be a super hit, it appears that Messi’s arch-rival, Cristiano Ronaldo, will also follow suit. A new docuseries slated to cover Portugal’s monumental UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier feat is set to be released.
According to reports, the Portuguese channel Canal 11 has announced a documentary film titled ‘Perfect Memory 10/10‘ for the Os Navegadores. It focuses on Roberto Martinez’s side’s historic qualification in the Euro 2024 qualifiers. The docuseries, scheduled to air in the coming days, will highlight how Ronaldo and his teammates ended Group J with 30 points, winning all 10 consecutive matches without a loss or draw. Notably, their group rivals included Slovakia, Luxembourg, Iceland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Liechtenstein, against whom they played double matches from March 24, 2023, to November 20, 2023.

Apple TV’s ‘Messi’s World Cup: The Rise of a Legend’ has become an instant hit since its release on February 21, 2024. In fact, the numbers are enough to support these claims. On IMDb, the docuseries scored a rating of 8.4/10 based on 402 audience reviews so far. In the first week of its release, it ranked as the 8th most-watched TV show worldwide on Apple TV+ and ended the week on Apple TV+’s Top 10 list in over 50 countries.
Earlier, following Lionel Messi’s move to Inter Miami, Apple TV also released ‘Messi Meets America’ on October 11, 2023, which also churned up pretty good numbers. Nevertheless, only time will tell whether Portugal’s documentary can surpass Messi’s World Cup film. Who knows, it may perform even better, considering that Ronaldo has grown his audience since his move to Saudi Arabia.
