Lionel Messi scored the first goal of the match in the 10th minute on a penalty that Saleh Alshehri leveled it in the 48th minute, and Salem gained the lead in the 53rd minute of the game.
The game was so intense that there was a stoppage-time required on the field, as, while trying to save the ball, the goalkeeper of Saudi Arabia gave a flying knee to one of the players. Keeper Mohammed Alowais caught teammate Yasser Al-Shahrani with a knee to the chin while trying to save the ball.
