Cristiano Ronaldo has shocked the world again. The former Real Madrid star has been in the news for over a month. It was publicly known that the Portuguese star was not having a good time at Manchester United. Fans and public forums tried so hard to find a possible solution for Ronaldo.
A few weeks ago, Saudi-based soccer club, Al-Nassr F.C. made a gigantic bid for Cristiano Ronaldo. The amount of money promised to the Real Madrid legend on that deal was utterly ridiculous. However, the fans were quite sure that Ronaldo wouldn’t settle for playing soccer in Saudi Arabia.

What are the furious American fans saying about Cristiano Ronaldo?
The social media spotlight went off Cristiano Ronaldo after Lionel Messi won the World Cup. However, the spotlight is now back on the Portuguese star. Surely the MLS would've been better? The US is a huge emerging football market, not to mention the mainstream access…

Most of the reactions are questioning Ronaldo’s decision. No one can really understand why Ronaldo wouldn’t choose America over Saudi if he had the choice.
Why did Ronaldo just contradict his own statement?
British television personality, Piers Morgan released an eye-opening interview with Cristiano Ronaldo just days before the World Cup started. In that interview, Ronaldo wasn’t interested in playing soccer for the money, as Piers Morgan made quite apparent.
Morgan stated: “If it was just about money, you’d be in Saudi Arabia earning this king’s ransom but that’s not what motivates you.”
Ronaldo quickly interjected by saying, “Exactly, because I thought, I still believe that I can score many, many goals and help the team because I still believe that I’m still good and capable to help national team even Manchester United.”

These lines from the interview are still jarring in every Ronaldo fan’s head. What makes it more bizarre is that this interview just happened over a month ago. Soccer fans cannot understand how the tide has turned as turned so quickly.
It will be interesting to see how the Portuguese star maintains his relevance in the world of soccer. The fans still feel that America was the better option because a major chunk of the next FIFA World Cup is in America itself.
