Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, the Hollywood duo behind the takeover of Wrexham AFC, have been the talk of the town ever since their miraculous journey with the club began. The story itself seems like a script straight out of Hollywood, and some have even compared it to the popular TV show, Ted Lasso. But what if Reynolds and McElhenney were to make a cameo appearance on the Jason Sudeikis-Starrer Show? The duo did tackle this question last year.

Fans were thrilled when this question was posed to the actors last October, just before their team ended a 15-year drought by winning the National League. To further celebrate their success, “Welcome to Wrexham” is set to release its second season on September 12, allowing fans to relive the incredible journey.

It was during the filming of an interview with BuzzFeed last year in October that the question of a potential cameo in ‘Ted Lasso’ was brought up. As the interview took a playful turn with the addition of some adorable puppies, a question was posed to the actors about the possibility of their appearance in the show.

While the duo didn’t give a straightforward answer, they responded with their customary humor. McElhenney, known for his dry wit, replied, “F**k Ted Lasso”. Reynolds, who was clearly preoccupied with the puppies, humorously added, “Right? Does Ted Lasso have 65 puppies?”. This got a firm “No” from ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Star’. This playful banter only fueled the excitement among fans, leaving them to wonder if this could indeed become a reality.

The idea of Reynolds and McElhenney making a cameo appearance in “Ted Lasso” seems to resonate with fans due to the similarities between their real-life story and the show. Just like Ted Lasso, Reynolds, and McElhenney took on a seemingly impossible task and transformed a struggling team into a force to be reckoned with.

The idea of seeing Reynolds and McElhenney on Ted Lasso is an exciting prospect. And this wouldn’t be the first time we see such a special cameo. Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, made a special cameo appearance during the third season of the show.

The unexpected crossover of Pep Guardiola in Ted Lasso took everyone by surprise. The Spanish coach made an appearance in the 12th episode of the third season. Guardiola expressed his happiness about being a part of it and even fanboyed over the show. He revealed how he and his family are big fans of the show.

When given the opportunity to appear alongside Jason Sudeikis, Guardiola gladly accepted, stating,  “Why not?” and I could meet the actors”. In that specific episode, AFC Richmond, led by Ted Lasso, defeated Man City under Guardiola’s direction. As tradition dictates, Guardiola approached Ted Lasso on the sideline for a handshake and engaged in a surprising conversation. It will be interesting to see if a cameo like this is on the cards for the Wrexham owners too.
