“F**k It” – Kansas Fans Trash Patrick Mahomes’ KC Current Over Latest Trade Deal on 2023 NWSL Draft Day

It has been a busy week for KC Current, who recently announced Patrick Mahomes as their new owner. And it was yet another shocking move from the monarchs after they made an appalling move.

The Currents traded Lynn Williams to NJ/NY Gotham FC for the second overall pick. They selected Michelle Cooper, a talented attacker from Duke. Winner of the Mac Hermann Trophy, Cooper has 19 goals and 11 assists in 22 matches.

Moreover, in over 40 matches at the college level, she scored 31 goals and recorded 16 assists. The currents were not in the market for an attacker. However, these stats were tempting enough to sign the forward, who has been a sensational talent since then.

She has been a part of the U.S. U-20 Women’s Youth National Team. Cooper was to net eight goals at the 2022 CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship, thus becoming the top scorer of the tournament. She also won the golden boot and golden ball as the best player as well.

While others didn’t wanted Lynn Williams to move the other side and are furious with the club’s decision.

KC Current is already in high waves after they also announced NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes has the co-owner.

“I am thankful for the chance to join my wife as part of the Kansas City Current’s ownership team,” said Mahomes to the Current.

The Kansas City quarterback joins his wife, Brittany, as a member of the club’s ownership. His wife was also a player at the University of Texas-Tyler and has been a part of the team since its foundation.

“Brittany and the Longs have done an incredible job building a world-class organization. I am excited to join another championship-caliber club as it continues to make history.”

This is the first time that Mahomes has become an owner of a club. He also owns a small percentage of Sporting KC. Besides this, he also has a stake in the city’s Major League Baseball side, the Kansas City Royals.

Patrick has been an influential figure in the city. The 27-year-old has a remarkable impression with the recent establishment of an outlet of the Whataburger food chain.
