Surprisingly, Pique’s new and unique soccer league has received an unbelievable amount of attention in its first season. Why did the Nou Camp suddenly think about Cristiano Ronaldo?
The entire soccer universe was geared up for the final four of the Kings League. FC Barcelona’s home ground was shockingly sold out yesterday. More than 90,000 fans were present to watch the games. Apart from that, more than two million fans tuned in from all across the globe to watch the iconic and unique soccer tournament.

But before the games began, the Presidents of each team met on the pitch. They decided to have a fun penalty shootout before the Kings League final-four kicked off. However, DjMaRiiO thought of doing something different. He lined up to take his penalty and gracefully slotted the ball into the back of the net.

He then ran straight to the corner flag and pulled off Cristiano Ronaldo’s famous ‘SUI’ celebration. This took the entire stadium by surprise. However, the fans decided to play along with the iconic moment and chanted a big ‘SUI’ in unison. Apart from the Barca-Madrid rivalry, it was a heartfelt throwback moment to the mighty Portuguese legend, who left Spain about five years as well.
Without a doubt, the first season of the Kings League was an absolute success.
What’s next for Pique’s Kings League?
Just yesterday, the Kings League made another announcement too through their Twitter handle. It was basically a short ad that featured Neymar Jr. In the video, Gerard Pique has seemingly been kidnapped. A tied-up Pique watches the Brazilian soccer veteran on television. Neymar who is first in disguise removes his mask and indirectly makes the major announcement.

He says, “King there has only been one and he was Brazilian. Let’s make a deal. Give me a Kings League team, easy”. Neymar Jr. will only be the second owner of a team in the Brazilian Kings League. A few weeks ago, Pique had surprisingly revealed that Ronaldinho would be the owner of the first team of the Kings League in Brazil after making an appearance as a player in its first edition.
