It’s getting rather frantic as the summer 2023 soccer transfer window nears its end. Chelsea wantaway striker Romelu Lukaku has been at the forefront of several links to other clubs. Lukaku, who is rumored to be dating American rapper Megan Thee Stallion, was strongly linked with a move to Juventus throughout this summer’s window. But he has now secured a loan move to AS Roma. And now, Roma’s billionaire American owner would personally be involved in flying the striker to Rome.
After an underwhelming spell at Chelsea, Lukaku spent last season on loan at Inter Milan. He appeared against Man City in the UEFA Champions League final last season. The Belgium frontman was also linked with a move to Saudi Arabia. But the Saudi move didn’t materialize.

As per the Instagram soccer account namely liveherewego, Roma’s American billionaire owner Dan Friedkin who is worth $5.6 billion, will transport Lukaku to Rome by a private plane himself. It states that Friedkin’s involvement was ‘crucial’ to agreeing to terms with Chelsea’s American owners Todd Boehly and co.
The Instagram account quotes, “Roma’s owner Dan Friedkin will fly the private plane personally for Romelu Lukaku! Romelu Lukaku, set to land in Rome on Tuesday at 5pm Italy time. AS Roma owner Dan Friedkin will drive the private flight personally, decision has been made. Friedkin’s work on the deal was crucial to agree terms with Chelsea owners, key factor”.

This comes after Chelsea and Roma came to an agreement regarding the loan move of Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian striker will reportedly move to AS Roma on a season-long loan for a loan fee of around $10 million.
The Lukaku saga finally is resolved for Chelsea
But Lukaku’s transfer saga in this summer’s transfer window was far from a simple affair. Perhaps the strongest links this summer were to Juventus. The reports stated that Chelsea were eyeing a swap deal to trade Lukaku for Juve striker Dusan Vlahovic.
However, the deal eventually fell through. This was, perhaps, because of Juventus fan’s protests against signing the Belgian striker. Juventus supporters invaded the pitch in large numbers after a pre-season friendly. Chants in Italian of “noi Lukaku non lo vogliamo” which translates to: ‘We don’t want Lukaku’ rang around the stadium as Juventus fans chanted in unison.
