For the first time in the current season, the management of Al-Hilal has approached the main referees’ committee with an audacious appeal. They have requested for an entire non-Saudi crew to officiate the highly anticipated match. The crew includes the arena referee, his assistants, and even a video technology referee and assistant. Though the motive behind this request is unknown, it has stirred curiosity among fans.

According to the sources, the main referees’ committee in the Saudi League is actively seeking elite referees from Europe. Italy, in particular, is on the radar for the Saudi Football Federation to oversee the clash between Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr. The federation is seeking referees despite the barriers placed by UEFA in releasing their top referees.

This is not a unique move by the federation, as European referees have enlisted their expertise in 10 matches already this season. Notably, Dutchman Danny Makele, a Class A referee, took charge of the clash between Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahli earlier. This special request by Al-Hilal’s management underlines their determination to ensure fair and top-notch officiating for the clash.

Cristiano Ronaldo seeks to continue his scoring streak for Al-Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo, Al-Nassr’s star striker, will be looking to continue his impressive goalscoring streak in the upcoming derby.
