Al Hilal made a massive deal to sign Neymar, one of the most skilled players in the world. Within two months after he joined, the club reached a praise-worthy milestone.

Asian soccer has been under the blanket for the past many years. The continent boasts of having 800 million fans, more than any other continent. But in terms of competition, the continent lags a lot. The recent idea by Saudi was to approach the market aggressively. This has caused a massive breakthrough that indicates the strength of Asia’s strongest clubs now.

Al Hilal becoming a force in Asia

Before the current trend of mass transfers to Saudi, Al Hilal was still the best soccer club in Asia, winning 18 domestic league titles and 4 AFC Champions League titles. But after Al Nassr entered by bringing in giants from the harvest of Europe, Al Hilal rose to the occasion and went tit for tat. Now, their overall dominance in Asia is clear, with it becoming the 75th strongest club in the world.

The rankings are based on a rating of 0 to 100, where 0 is the weakest and 100 indicates the strongest club out of the 13000 analyzed. The strongest club is Manchester City, with a score of 100. Al Hilal jumped 16 spots to reach the 75th spot with a rating of 83.2.

The other teams from Asia on the list are Al Nassr at 86 and Al Ittihad at the 99th spot. The reason for these clubs’ improvement could be due to their blistering player signings. Eleven points clear of Al Nassr despite the balance in signings shows its authority on Asian Soccer.

Neymar’s signing massive for Al Hilal

Neymar’s deal in August for $418 million was a relief for Al Hilal. With Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe rejecting to go to Saudi, the club needed someone to match their rival’s strength and stature. Al Nassr, having  Cristiano Ronaldo, and Al Ittihad, having Karim Benzema, needed Al Hilal to level up, which they managed successfully.
