This decision came after talks with Qatar management, citing the cultural implication. However, a video recently surfaced that made everybody term them,, hypocrites.
The video is taken by The Mirror, in which FIFA officials seem to enjoy expensive French champagne. It is from the party after the World Cup draw in April earlier this year. This footage shows Qatar royal members in the party, and that’s what fans are terming FIFA officials, hypocrites.

The last-minute decision of FIFA is worrying
Various fans are making statements that this decision is worrying. FIFA and Qatar officials had previously announced dedicated fan zones for the sale of beer. There are a lot of messages from Qatar officials that they are willing to make this event a memorable event for the fans. However, this last-minute maneuver isn’t sitting right with critics.

Many people are already in Qatar to witness the event, but now they feel cheated because of this reverse take by the officials. Budweiser had already transported the beer stock from Bahrain to Qatar for expected sales in FIFA WC. Instead, they tweeted, “Well, this is awkward..”
No ban on non-alcoholic beer
Non-alcoholic beer will still be available for the whole 64 matches event. As FIFA stated, “There is no impact to the sale of Bud Zero, which will remain available at all Qatar’s World Cup stadiums.” However, it will cause Budweiser some loss. They have been in partnership with FIFA since 1986 and are in negotiations for the sponsorship of the next World Cup set to take place in the USA.

People have this curious question as to why changes are made at the very last minute for which they had previously agreed upon. Some are stating that this is another reason any other country would have been a better option for the event. Some fans are going as extreme as placing this in the unfortunate events before World Cup.
